Location: Council Bluffs, IA

Tuesday, we headed across the river to Council Bluffs, Iowa to help out in the Western Iowa Victory Office, and go door to door for Congressman Steve King, IA -05.  After getting so much attention leading up to the Iowa Caucuses, the citizens of Iowa have to be a little sick of politics, but we kept pounding the pavement for Congressman King and Senator McCain.

Iowa is going to be an incredibly important swing state this November.  Barack Obama stormed into the nomination process with an unexpected victory and Iowa, while John McCain really made his move in New Hampshire, finishing basically tied for fourth with Fred Thompson in the Republican Caucus. So Senator McCain has to work hard to keep Iowa in the red column this Novermber; recent polls show McCain is within striking distance, around 5%, so we were happy to make some calls and go door to door to help out these efforts.

We knocked on about 150 doors and made a couple hundred calls.  I think all four of us had pretty positive results so hopefully we were able to make a small difference.

This afternoon we are heading back across the river to Omaha, NE, to help out at Congressman Lee Terry's energy rally.
