Farewell Ohio

Location: Ft. Wayne, IN

Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to talk to Congressman Latta this afternoon.  The airways intervened and prohibited it from happening.  His flight got delayed twice so by the time he arrived in Ohio, he had to get to a scheduled event in the district.  Thanks to the Latta people for doing everything possible to try to make it happen though!  Sometimes it’s just not in the cards.

Bowling Green, OH was WiTR’s final stop in Ohio, so I wanted to give everyone a quick rundown of our strenuous two weeks in Ohio.

We arrived to Cincinnati, Ohio Thursday July 10th.  Since then, we have visited 11 of Ohio’s 18 congressional districts.  Of those eleven districts, we helped out in three Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) “Red to Blue” targets (OH-15, OH-16, OH-1), two “watch list” district (OH-2 and OH-7), three open seats vacated by  retiring Republicans (OH-15 Deborah Pryce, OH-16 Ralph Regula, OH-7 Dave Hobson) and one potential Red pickup (OH-18).

It’s pretty cool to look back and see how many important races we were able to help out on.  We now head west into Indiana’s 3rd Congressional district represented by Republican Mark Souder.  We will just be stopping through and then heading south to Congressman Mike Pence’s district (IN-6).  Tomorrow we are heading to Dearborn County to walk in a parade and represent the Congressman at the Bright Community Fair.
