My mom would be so proud of the number of country songs I now know.
At the beginning of the trip when Christie and Chris said how much they liked country music, I’ll admit it, I was uneasy about it. Being from Staten Island, I never got to hear a whole lot of country music and as a result assumed I wouldn't like it.
Personally, I’m a huge fan of the alternative rock genre: Cartel, the Kooks, New Atlantic, that kind of stuff. If you don’t listen to those bands, you must. Seriously go to Itunes right now.
A few years ago my mom got into country music and I never gave it a try. No offense to my Mom but Kid Rock isn’t really my style.
Anyway after playing Christie’s ipod and some CDs she burned to play in the car I started to like a few of the songs. My two country favorites are Taylor Swift’s “Should have said no” and Kenny Chesney’s “Back where I come from.”
So for anyone who is a “Oh I like all kinds of music, except country,” give it a chance and you might actually like it.
