Issue of the day: Drilling

Over the past month, we have talked to voters in six different states on behalf of Congressional candidates and the most common question we have been asked is whether the candidate supports drilling.   This afternoon we will have the opportunity to talk with Congressman Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green, OH-5).  Congressman Latta just returned from a congressional fact finding mission to the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), so I hope to get some of the findings.

Congressman Latta has been serving in Congress for about a year now, finishing the term of the late Congressman Paul Gilmor, who unexpectantly passed away last summer.  Congressman Latta hasn't missed a beat in representing the Ohio 5th district.  He is widely respected among Congressional Republicans, reaffirmed by his selection to be a part of the American Energy Tour.

With gas hovering around $4 a gallon all across the country, people are fed up.  A recent Rassmussen poll shows that 67% of American support drilling off-shore, with only 18% of American disagreeing and 15% are undecided, pretty overwelming numbers.

American Solutions, Newt Gingrich's think tank, recently submitted 1.2 million signatures to leaders in Congress to push for action on this front.  While at some recent county fairs, county Republican Party booths have been adding to the efforts, setting up petitions booklets for fair/festival goers to sign.  If you haven't and would like to sign the petition you can find it here on American Solutions' website.

Hopefully Congressman Latta can share some of his findings from the American Energy Tour and I can share some of them with you this evening.  Have a good Friday everyone

The only drilling I support is the electoral drilling of all those dummycrats come November. Keep Ohio safe and our citizens working hard!
