Last night, after arriving in Indiana, we decided to check out downtown Indianapolis. On our way there we started talking to our cab driver. He asked us why we were in town and we told him how we were doing some campaign work. He started talking about the presidential election and the things he said were great.
A big issue in the election is the amount of experience each candidate has. Christie talked about the candidates’ experience with foreign policy in her last post. There’s definitely a dramatic difference between the amount of experience that McCain and Obama have.
Our cab driver put this idea into his own words when he said “This election is a rookie and an experienced player.” I loved the way he related the presidential election to two sports players on opposing teams. He even acknowledged the fact that Obama is attempting to improve his standing when he said, “the rookie is making a lot of shots but I don’t know if they count.”
Will Obama’s oversees trip really convince people he’s capable of leading our country as commander in chief? I spent the last semester in Italy (that’s longer than Obama’s trip) but I wouldn’t dare consider myself qualified to be an American ambassador to Italy.
The real question is who will American voters choose as their next president? To end with the words of our great cab driver, “Who’s gonna win the ring?”

Don't you think this is sort of a cheap shot? Obama spent every waking moment of his trip meeting with foreign officials or rallying in front of tens of thousands of people. That's a far cry from touring a few Duomo and riding a gondola through Venice, eh? :)

Experience doesn't mean anything unless you can properly apply it to future decisions. If the difference in experience is not manifest as a drastically better or creative foreign policy, then it doesn't mean a whole lot. As United States Senators, they get more foreign policy exposure in a month than most of us get in a lifetime, so they should already be fairly well equipped to deal with the basics.
disingenuous?

Shouldn't we want someone in the WH who is beyond "fairly well equipped to deal with the basics"?
As for BO's "foreign policy exposure", how can we measure that with all those NVs on his voting record? That's what I call disingenuous.
