Pleasantville...

Jeremy's picture
Posted July 10th, 2008 by Jeremy
Location: Morehead, KY

We stopped through Morehead, KY last night, part of Congressman Hal Rogers Congressioanl district.  It's a cute town in southern KY; it could be the town in the movie Pleasantville.

It is a small town where everybody knows your name and is covered with the Mom and Pop shops.Unfortunately we didn't  get to spend much time there.  Congressman Rogers doesn't have a Democratic comepetitor, so nothing is going on in Morehead.

I have actually been to Morehead before.  My dad worked at the hospital in the area about 8 years ago.  I actually remember attending a parade there where the Congressman was on a float.

Today we are entering the great state of Ohio.  We are spending time at my house.  I am excited to see my family and show the crew around.

Support

On July 11th, 2008 Barb (favorite Hair designer) (not verified) says:

Hey Jeremy, Wanted to drop you a line and let you know how proud I am of you and your group. I envy your political knowledge and find you inspiring to be more involved myself. Your support and understanding at such a young age should be an inspiration to us all. I have a nephew who is in the Airforce and received a purple heart for injurys received while in Iraq. He has a 17 months to go and is on his way back to Iraq next month. He knows very little about politics and I really even wonder if he knows why he is going back over there. He does however want a college education and this is a way to receive it. He looks forward to getting out and starting school. There are different reasons why young men and women join the service sometimes it's the only way out. Never let anyone put a damper on your dreams and doing what you love!
Your Friend always,

You young Goopers should get yourselves some "more head," and then maybe you'd be less stupid about everything.

Rep. Rogers

Actually, Congressman Rogers is from Somerset, Kentucky. :) I see you went through my hometown of Louisville today. Are you planning on coming back?

Louisville

On July 10th, 2008 Jeremy says:

We will actually be coming back to Louisville it is one of the contender seats we have targeted. We will be there after we leave northern Ohio, we loop down through three districts in Indiana and then return to Eastern KY. We'll be helping out Congressman Davis in Northern KY while making the rounds in the Cincinnati area.

When we re-enter KY we'll be going to Elizabethtown and Hopkinsville with a stop by Louisville to help Anne Northup take that seat. If you'd like to help out with us, shoot Kerry an email Kerry@whereisthered.com and we'll make sure contact you when we get close.

So how many Democratic

On July 10th, 2008 Anonymous (not verified) says:

So how many Democratic congressional districts have you guys been to? At least five or six, according to liberal blogs.

I love that your tour of America is actually a tour of those parts of America that agree with you politically. Pretty gutsy!

Iraq

On July 10th, 2008 Gary (not verified) says:

Continuum, have you been there? I've enjoyed sunny Saudi, Iraq, Jordan, and the lovey Kuwait while the latter was in flames. What do you do? Do you volunteer for your local food kitchem? Do you support the Salvation Army? Have you served in the military? Are you even registered to vote? These kids are seeing our great country, helping candidates, and I can assure you they understand the election process and the issues better than we do. It is always easy to complain and make a big deal about how others are wasting time and money doing something instead of doing something ourselves. Be positive, look at what they are doing and how they support our country. I don't do as well as they are, do you?

Riding Around the US

On July 10th, 2008 Continuum (not verified) says:

What a cool way to show that you support our great country. Yet, another cool way would be to volunteer yourselves for service in the US Army. Then you could really show your support for America by serving in Iraq. If you guys can't do this, then you're just wasting a whole lot of gas in some inane publicity stunt. BTW -- you might mention to Romney's five boys that since they are not serving America by helping their Dad get elected, that they, too, could volunteer in the US armed forces.
