One of my favorite feelings in the world is the one you get when someone unnecessarily and unexpectedly goes out of their way to do something nice for you. We all had that feeling tonight when, by complete coincidence, we got the chance to meet one of our donors.
This afternoon, while I was driving from Topeka to Wichita, the rest of the group was catching up on some work in the car. Chris was calling some people who had donated to our trip to thank them for their support when he got a hold of Roseanne. When he thanked her and mentioned that we were in Kansas today, she told him that she lives in a suburb of Wichita. She insisted on meeting up with us because she had something else she wanted to give us.
Roseanne drove an hour out of her way just to come visit with us and leave us a few small souvenirs -- all of this after having already contributed to our trip. Kerry said it best when she said that people like Roseanne renew her faith in people in general.
The fact that Roseanne was so kind to us without even knowing us was flattering and very touching. We're incredibly thankful for the generosity of Roseanne and the rest of the people who have helped make this trip possible.
So cool
Great story. Don't leave me hanging: what were the small souvenirs?
Need pics. Video?
Thats awesome!
Great job guys!
