Schuring a sure thing?

Today we are helping State Senator Kirk Schuring in Ohio’s 16th Congressional district.  Schuring is looking to replace Congressman Ralph Regula who has served the district since 1972.  The Ohio 16th Congressional District is the third “DCCC Red to Blue” target we are visiting in Ohio, so we are pumped to get to help out on such an important race.

Congressman Regula is one of 50 or so Republican’s who are retiring this election cycle.  Regula hasn’t had too tough of a race recently; he is widely respected in the district and has a reputation for excellent constituent services. However, the district in typically a battleground in presidential elections, so Schuring has a tough race ahead of him.  Things seem to be going well so far for the campaign. A recent Zogby poll shows Schuring up over John Boccieri by around 6%; we are hoping to widen that gap, making Schuring a SURE THING.

We are starting the day by making some phone calls, but we should have a different array of things to do today.  Stay tuned and we’ll keep you updated!

Keep going!

Reading these other posts is kind of sad. I think the three of you are proving the point that there is a future for the Republican party. Keep up your great work! I'm very proud of what you are doing. You aren't just talking the talk... you are walking the walk. Just keep going!

You'll See

On July 23rd, 2008 Wait'll you wake up! (not verified) says:

I am a few years older then you all. I too considered myself a young republican supporting the invasion in Iraq, etc...loving Hannity, Rush, and W.

Things have changed. I grew up. I realized what you and I called conservatism, was simply neoconservatism. Check out the history of conservatism (or classic liberalism). This is where I fit now. The two parties are both war parties. Neoconservatism was started by former liberals who tired of their party (the Dems) and infiltrated the Republican party turning it into the grand war party now.

Seriously, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but realize that the Republican Party has been hijacked. I would suggest you study into the libertarian party and read the book, Citizen Power by Mike Gravel, and also checkout The Revolution: A Manifesto by Ron Paul.

Traditional conservative policies (bring em home, free trade, lower taxes, less government) will serve to improve the American lifestyle. This crop of fauxconservativism has only proved to degrade it.

Ain't gonna happen, folks.

Ain't gonna happen, folks. These eight years have shown that republicans are ruining the country and the economy. You can try to look young and hip all you like, but Dems are gonna win this.
